At the completion of this workshop, participants will have increased knowledge of:
- the procedural components necessary to conduct an AT assessment of a student who is blind or visually impaired
- the three broad areas in which technology provides tools that can assist students who are blind of visually impaired
- at least three types of technology for accessing printed & electronic information
- at least three types of technology that can assist students who are blind or visually impaired in written communication
- at least three types of technology that can assist teachers of students who are blind or visually impaired in producing materials in alternate formats
- which technology tools are best for accomplishing specific educational tasks
- rationale and justification that can be used when recommending specific AT for students who are blind or visually impaired
