The Giving Common Challenge
A 36-hour Online Giving Event · October 10 & 11, 2012
October 10 & 11, 2012 marked a historic moment for Massachusetts and Perkins. In just 36 hours, over 500 organizations across the Commonwealth joined forces to raise more than $1 million online in the first-ever Giving Common Challenge.
Those 36 hours were full of excitement and joy here at Perkins. As we watched your gifts pour in, we were humbled by your generosity and honored by your support. On behalf of everyone at Perkins, I want to extend my warmest thanks to each of you.
Together, you contributed $17,811 through 209 gifts! Fifty-three of those were made between noon and 1pm on Wednesday earning us a $2,000 Lunch Time Prize. Thanks to Brookline Bank, the Walter Henry Freygang Foundation, and an anonymous donor, the first $14,000 of your gifts will also be matched dollar for dollar. Altogether, we raised $33,811!
That money will go to support our programs here on campus, in the community, and around the world. Thanks to your gifts, we can continue to provide state-of-the-art education and services to infants, toddlers, children, youth, and young adults who are blind, deafblind or visually impaired, including those with additional disabilities, their families, and the professionals who serve them. Thank you!
